*that* interview

1) micro-chipping dogs is a GOOD thing!

2) way to give away the end of the book/movie?!!!

Currently I am reading The Fault in Our Stars and I had to stop reading because it is too painful. Why John Green why?!

yea i made the mistake of reading it at work (my work happens to be on film sets so thank fuck I was on a dark sound stage!)  and pretty much had to put it down so i didnt burst into tears and have the rest of the crew think i’m really weird..

Metamorphosis: Shailene Woodley Interviewed by MTV (written)

hello-jenn:

Hey everyone for anybody who lives outside the USA here is what our Tris, Shailene Woodley had to say about Divergent at the Sundance Film Festival to MTV.

“I read the book, and I thought it was really—my whole thing, to be honest, is I never wanted to do big films,” she explained….

..then she goes on to be like “yeaaa it like highlights things i think are super important for people to be aware of.. liiiike micro-chipping dooogs… cus um like people in the book get a micro-chip..ummm and yea like other important stuff..”

yea actors should stick to what they’re good at which is repeating words that other people write for them.

Have you ever noticed how..

in Y.A novels people always meet the love of their life at 16 or 17…

wouldnt it be nice is life were really like that..

In news that only matters to publishing nerds, the New York Times has changed its bestseller lists to become format neutral (so it counts e-book sales and doesn’t distinguish between hardcover and paperback), and is now split between young adult books and chapter books written for 8- to 12-year-olds.

I am happy about this mostly because A. it’s good to recognize that middle grade and young adult are real, distinct categories with real, distinct (sometimes overlapping, but not always) readerships. and B. it was weird that e-books weren’t factored in because…e-books: they’re just like regular books except without paper! etc. and C. other reasons, but those were the main ones.

I really think this also proves that 8-12 yr olds are turning in vapid morons - really, *4* books about Lego and another about One Direction?!! are you kidding me, parents really buy this crap for their children?? what about Lois Lowery, Enid Blyton, C.S Lewis!  but fucking lego?!! why would you read about lego anyway, its lego just go play with it!
urgh that 8-12 yr olds list just seriously depressed me. I’m not going to buy my little cousins any Lego for Xmas now - they’re getting The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe, damnit!
